i survived the ruach/tzofim camping trip. 3 days, 2 nights, about 45
kids entering the 3rd-6th grades, and no breaks, showers, or hot water.
oh and i shared a contact lens case with someone. prrretty impressive,
eh? in short, it was super awesome, but crazy tiring (not to mention
unsanitary), and i think i can officially consider myself hardcore now,
along with the rest of ruach/tzofim staff. i also think i'm going to
make pins.

... or is it buttons?

alright so i've been really neglectful lately, xanga-wise. here, i'll try to make up for it.

since my last post, i have...

- seen cars and pirates of the caribbean 2
- been learning how to drive (horray i'm behind-the-wheel! finally!!!)
- seen a chiropractor (second visit tomorrow! woohoo!!)
- survived the 1st session of camp, and am now on session 2
- received my first paycheck
- been working on my flipturns in the pool
- started knitting a bag (for myself) and also a scarf for leora
- survived several unseasonable heat waves while remaining outdoors
- gotten some pretty amazing tanlines. like, on my face.

sorry for the uninspired format of the past few posts. i swear i'll conjure up a good one soon.

i'm moving on wednesday for like the 4th time in 5 years. but hopefully this'll be the last time in a long while. i think this calls for a celebration. :D!

so. a brief update on what i've been up to thus far this summer.

in the past three weeks (that is, since school got out and summer began), i have...

sewn myself a pair of pajama pants
celebrated leora's birthday in tiburon
driven/journeyed up to oregon for the oregon shakespeare festival (where i saw three plays, perused many many little boutique-y shops, and consumed pistachio ice cream. mmmmm...)
spent memorial day in san jose with the family
made a trip out to haight street
taken the ferry across the bay to sausalito (where i experienced salt water taffy, by the way)
tried various restaurants in burlingame and the vicinity (esp. on broadway, like the mediterranean one, the thai one, and que seRAW seRAW)
made numerous trips to goodwill
driven out to and spent a weekend-ish at bianca's cabin
made a pilgrimage to city lights
taken advantage of free admission day at the sf moma and de young museum
flown out to chicago in order to visit dad and company
gone to the italian street painting festival in san rafael (*swooooon*)
and viewed the following movies:

sweeney todd
when harry met sally
noises off (um. SO GOOD.)
my best friend's wedding
peter pan (the musical)
lost horizon
neverending story
alice in wonderland
gypsy

(and by the way, 99%--no no. more like 87%--of the aforementioned activities were undertaken with the linden. of linsther cawodyng. *trademark*)

as for the near future...

tues-sunday, we're family vacationing out to new mexico.
and staff training begins the following monday

WHEW.

here's hoping the rest of the summer is as awesomely jam-packed with excitement as it has been thus far. :D!

as of yesterday, i'm home! :D!

although this doesn't really feel like home at all. considering it's all staged (to show, for selling), which is kind of really weird. um like, i didn't sleep in my own bed last night--i slept in this bed that isn't ours but that's in my room, along with other furnishing, etc. that don't belong to us. so basically, i feel like i'm living in a catalog and that i should actually be a maniquen or something.

i got to see linden and bianca and leora today! that was super exciting. :)! ate some tasty mediterranean food in burlingame, had much fun in the new makeup store in tanforan, et cetera. it was really nice. :)
